About Us
One Small Chance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded by Chance, a dedicated high school student attending Patrick Henry High School. The organization has a mission to bridge opportunity gaps for disadvantaged youth, addressing the inequalities that are a barrier to their progress. Inspired by his own experiences while growing up, Chance became aware of the numerous challenges many students face—such as starting school without the essential supplies, struggling to participate in sports due to financial limitations, and lacking the necessary resources to excel academically. These personal challenges motivated Chance to create an organization that is wholeheartedly dedicated to providing support and opportunities for youth experiencing similar difficulties.
At One Small Chance, we actively work to empower underserved students by offering scholarships, distributing educational supplies, providing sports equipment, and facilitating mentorship programs. Our goal is to ensure that these young individuals have access to the essential tools they need to succeed in school, excel in athletics, and navigate life’s challenges. We bring together the financial resources of individuals, families, and communities to lend support to children who need our help the most. By fostering a strong sense of community, support, and inclusion, One Small Chance is fully committed to breaking down the financial barriers that prevent young people from reaching their full potential, ultimately creating pathways that allow them to thrive in various aspects of their lives.
Athletic Scholarships
At One Small Chance, we believe sports can help with personal growth, discipline, and community building. However, many disadvantaged youth face high costs for equipment, travel, and registration fees, which can limit their opportunities. That's why we provide Athletic Scholarships to help remove these financial barriers and give athletes a chance to follow their passion for sports. We support funding for league registration, essential gear, and travel expenses. Our goal is to help these young athletes succeed in sports and develop life skills like teamwork, perseverance, and leadership. By investing in underserved youth, we empower future leaders and promote a more inclusive community for all.

Supporting Education
At One Small Chance, we believe every student deserves access to the tools they need to succeed academically. Through our school supply drive, we've provided over 50 students across the Hanover area with essential supplies, ensuring that financial barriers don't hinder their educational journey.
From backpacks and notebooks to pens and calculators, our drive has equipped students with the resources necessary to engage in their studies without distraction. By alleviating the burden of purchasing these essential items, we allow students to focus on what matters most—learning and academic achievement.
